About Us

Showpiece Quartet was formed in the summer of 2015, following local Theater Baton Rouge’s production of The Music Man. Lead, Daniel Zeagler, and bass, Chip Davis, met during the audition and knew that they had to form a quartet. Geoff Kannenberg, an LSU vocal performance major, was soon added to the mix, singing baritone. Finally, Phillip Zeagler, tenor, naturally had to join in being Daniel’s brother and a trombonist. Chip Davis, also with a degree in vocal performance from LSU, had been singing barbershop and performing in musical theatre for years. Chip’s past quartets include: High Cotton, Laudible, Heyday, and Vantage Point. Coming from various musical backgrounds, the guys instantly knew they had created something special. Today, Daniel, Chip, and Geoff live with their wives and families in Baton Rouge, while Phillip and his wife reside in Little Rock, Arkansas. Over the past five years, Showpiece has performed in many shows, competed regionally and qualified to sing in Barbershop Harmony Society’s International Conventions. Their most recent and highest accomplishment so far, has been winning The Southwestern District’s 2019 quartet competition in Dallas, Texas. Currently, Showpiece has two albums available for download. Lucky Day and Great Day are available to download on their website. They are working on album number three, so stay tuned for more great barbershop music!
